About Dr. John W. Robbins: Born in 1948 in Pennsylvania, Dr. John William Robbins graduated from Honesdale (Pennsylvania) High School in 1966 and received his A. B. from Grove City College (Pennsylvania) in 1969, cum laude, with Highest Honors in Political Science. He pursued graduate studies at The Johns Hopkins University (Maryland), earning his Masters in Political Theory (1970) at age 21, and his Doctorate in Philosophy and Political Theory (1973) at age 24.

In 1973 Dr. Robbins became an aide to a member of Congress in Washington, D.C., and subsequently worked, over the next 20 years, in several capacities for several public policy institutions: the Heritage Foundation, the Templeton Foundation, Tax Reform Immediately, Western Islands, the Foundation for Economic Education, the Coalition for Sound Money, the Institute for Policy Innovation, and the Durell Foundation. He served as Legislative Assistant (1979-1981) and Principal Assistant (1981-1985) for another member of Congress, managing all aspects of the Congressman’s office.

In 1977, Dr. Robbins founded a Christian think tank, The Trinity Foundation, and under his direction the foundation has published more than 60 books, 100 lectures, and 200 essays; hosted conferences and seminars in several states; and published a monthly newsletter for 25 years.

In 2000, Dr. Robbins was elected and ordained to the office of elder in the Presbyterian Church in America and served in that capacity for a few years. However, when the Session on which he served endorsed the heresies regarding justification and the gospel being preached by some in the PCA, he (and other elders) resigned as both an elder and a member and is engaged in starting a Reformed congregation in Unicoi County, Tennessee. After an extended battle with cancer, Dr. Robbins died in 2008.

Dr. Robbins has written several books, hundreds of essays, and has lectured or taught at several institutions of higher education, including Harvard University, the University of Colorado, the University of Texas, Biola University, Sangre de Cristo Seminary, College of the Southwest, Westminster Seminary, and Chesapeake Seminary. He was a member of The Evangelical Theological Society and the Evangelical Philosophical Society.

Dr. Robbins was married to Linda Stephens for 34 years, and they had three children, Juley, Laura, and Meri; two sons-in-law; and five grandchildren, Zachary, Connor, Anna, Grace, and Chase.
